Meeting Notes

Lake View Camp is a non-profit camping ministry based in Pella. Our mission is to provide a broken world with environments where lives encounter God’s love and are being transformed by the hope that Christ gives. Our vision is to develop a Christian ministry where all people are welcomed and loved and thus feel the presence of God.
Lake View has been holding summer camps since 2002 and offers a variety of day camps, overnight camps, Grandparent/Grandchild camps during the summer, and retreats during the school year. Campers come from multiple denominations and are invited by friends.
In addition to church camps, Lake View holds summer camps and retreats specifically for Angel Tree children – kids who have or have had a parent in prison. The Camp also does disaster relief work trips throughout the United States.
So far in 2023, Lake View Camp has served 979 campers at one of its retreats, camps, or work trips and will surpass 1,000 campers with retreats planned for this fall.
In 2012, the founders purchased 264 acres south of Pella to develop into a permanent home for Lake View’s ministry. Lake View has been adding buildings and facilities to this property to move some of its programming to this site.
Fifteen of its summer camps were held at the Lake View Facility south of Pella, and 10 camps were held at other locations, including Central College, Pine Lake Brethren Camp, and Quaker Heights Camp in Eldora which have been amazing partners in Ministry with Lake View since 2003.
